Definition of a doula 

Is a professional* support provider who understands and trusts​ the process of birth,

who respects its transcendent and sacred aspects as well as its physical and

emotional aspects, and who facilitates** the birth experience for the birthing

person, parents, baby, and primary care providers.

• Supports and encourages evidence-based, patient-centered, non-technical,

unmedicated birth as the safest possible choice for pregnant people and babies

today whenever possible.

• Provides continuity of care prenatally through the postpartum period

Hi, My name is Tiera, I'm a certified medical assistant and Trained professional Fullspectrum doula. I was doula trained with ToLabor and Work with Richmond Doula projects. I have 3 1/2 years of experience with women's health. Welcomed to helping any birthing person. Also have years of prior birth And postpartum experience. I have been Richmond for over 10 years and graduated from Manchester high school class of 2014. I currently work as a medical assistant.

My Services

As a full spectrum doula, I provide emotional and physical support to you during your labor and delivery. I

can also facilitate communication with the staff to ensure that you have the information you need to

make informed decisions regarding your baby’s birth. I will provide reassurance and perspective to

you and your partner, make suggestions for labor progress, and help with relaxation, massage,

positioning and other techniques for your comfort. I am independent and self-employed, and as

such, I am working for you.
